Esther’s story is a testament to courage and perseverance. After enduring forced marriage and threats to her life, she fled her home country, determined to protect herself and her children. On her journey to Greece, she faced appalling conditions, sexual exploitation and nearly drowned on the boat crossing.
Hope grew when she started working with RLS. We helped Esther navigate the interview process and successfully claim asylum. “I was very, very happy. I immediately called Artemis to tell her, ‘I have good news!’”
Though life in Athens remains tough, Esther, with her characteristic strength, has found work supporting an elderly couple.
