On the 21st of March, together with our APBI team and guest speakers, we reflected on the significance of Nawruz in Afghan culture, and heard about how Nawruz promotes the values of peace and solidarity within families, friends and across communities.
Our inspiring guest speakers Somy Mz, Dr Homira Rezai, Yalda Gafore, Sophie Hurford, Zahra Shaheer and Hadi Sharif in conversation moderated by our colleague Shamim Sarabi, took us to a journey through time and space, reminding us of the importance of community in advocating for change. They invited us to carry on and try harder for Afghan families and to stand in solidarity with those left behind.
We couldn’t be more grateful to our hosts at Eversheds Sutherland who kindly gave us their space to hold this event. Special thanks to our partners at Safe Passage and of course our speakers and colleagues who worked so hard on organising the event.
